I know raid is a bit tricky but I may have missed a part. I installed LH on a ide drive by its self. Then I installed all of my promise raid drivers correctly. Then I boot the system up with a few raid disks connected, but not the longhord drive(still ide). Long horn picked up the new drives and could see them fine. I understood at this point I would be fine. So I put my system back the way I had it like so:

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\ ((this is my boot drive its an IDE))

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\ ((this is the slave drive to the above))

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(2)partition(1)\ ((raid 0))

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(3)partition(1)\ ((raid 1))

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(4)partition(1)\ ((raid 3))

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(5)partition(1)\ ((raid 4 long horn drive))

basicly my boot.ini on the boot drive boots to one of the 4 raid disks. Now with the drivers install on any os I boot to them just fine, with out the drivers its a no go. I know longhord has good drivers because I see the other raid disks in device manager and my computer. When I boot to the disk I get a black screen with no activity. the boot.ini string looks like this for longhorn:

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(5)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Windows longhorn" /NOEXECUTE=OPTIN /FASTDETECT /USENEWLOADER

also when pressing F8 I get the white bar go accross the screen and it never changes.any thoughts?
