aktivedesign
Technically speaking, I believe modification of any windows file is illegal... especially the boot screen but I am not sure about this...
gotnho
I'm just thinking of making a boot screen with my company's logo and deploy system w/ them instead of the boring windows.... Since it's a company i need to make sure it is legal to do so. can some one confirm this?

Sonic
Any binary files modified are illegal.
suryad
Yeah I would think any binary files modified without the parent company in this case MS's express authorization would be illegal. If you talk to MS and their reps say yes it is ok...then I am sure it is not a problem.

SiMoNsAyS
for what i've understood, modifying files for your personal use is not illegal.always as long as you don't share your knowledge or modified files.ps: ... leave regedit out of this lol
suryad
Haha then by definition of modding all of the members here who have used nLite are lawbreakers!!

matthewk
I use /NOGUIBOOT in boot.ini. Is there a way to add this to the boot.ini not manually? Or, to replace /FASTDETECT with /NOGUIBOOT? I read somewhere removing /FASTDETECT would improve boot speed. Thanks
