dman
I found some sample code on the web to kill processes. I have been working with the process management API's on another project when I found this. I compiled it for you... completely silent. Just call kp.exe <process name to kill>EDIT: removed debug symbols (ref to msvc60d.dll)kp.zip
PsycoUnc
-dman, is that proc killer OS-independent? (I use win98se)... ?
dman
No, sorry. It uses NTDLL.dll. NT/2000/XP only.
Alanoll
you could also try taskkill.exe as well. It's built into Windows XP.

dman
@alanoll,he wanted something completely silent... no feedback. don't see a switch for that in taskkill.
Martin Zugec
Almost every killer can be silenced by using redirection to nulExample for XP:wmic process where name="process_name" call terminate > nul
Loras
@alanoll,he wanted something completely silent... no feedback. don't see a switch for that in taskkill.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>He can use CMDOW (http://www.commandline.co.uk/cmdow/index.html)and taskkill together. CMDOW must be copied to System32 folder...CMD should be: cmdow @ /HIDtaskkill /F /IM program.exe
Martin Zugec
2Loras: I think he is quite satisfied with command windows - he want to hide output from kill command...
