98 FE + 98 SE + ME updates + patches + (hot)fixes

Recommended Posts

I applied to break limitter wmp.dll.

You can use more some functions on Media Player 9 with Windows Me.

Following Article

although This blog is Japanese, but wmp9ex2k.zip is multi-lingual.

one problem with this, blackwingcat:

WMP.DLL file included in the wmp9ex2k.zip file is version 9.0.3364.

Many of the WMP9 files (including the wmp.dll file) I have in my WMP9URP packs are from WinXP SP3 which are version 9.0.45xx.

Can your break limiter WMP.DLL patch also work with WMP.DLL file version 9.0.4507 from MS KB article 973540?

I've tested the KB973688 release of Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2 and all looks good.

It includes the ANSI Resources file (msxml4a.dll).

Direct download:

The .msi installer needs to be manually extracted from the .exe package using your fav archiver.

MDGx, you need to produce new unofficial Dec. 2009 DST/TZ updates for Win95/98/ME & for Win2k/NT4.

the Dec. 2008 KB955839 DST/TZ updates on your site are one year old already and are outdated.

I may be removing references to the old, unofficial Dec. 2008 DST/TZ patches off my updates pages soon.

Dec. 2009 DST/TZ KB976098 updates article:

PROBLEMCHYLD:

I don't think it matters.

If older files will try to install, you will be prompted to replace newer files with older ones, so you should answer no.

I monitored the discussion in these forums about which file versions are the best/most compatible, and I used those files.

Some may be older versions, but they work better/safer.

Some of the newer files were buggy, did not work properly.

And some files just didn't work, so I removed them.
