mlarj
I am having problems getting the MachineObjectOU="" setting working in the [identification] section of the unattend.txt.This works, and the domain is joined[identification]JoinDomain=drdlHowever, when I add...[identification]JoinDomain=drdlMachineObjectOU="OU = DRDL Laptops,OU = DRDL Standard Computers,OU = DRDL Client Computers,DC = drdl,DC=newgrp,DC = co,DC = uk"It not only fails to join the OU, but the domain as well!It is a windows 2003 domain, and the account being used to join the domain has the add workstation to domains priv. Not really sure what to try now, whether I need the JoinDomain entry as well? Any suggestions?Mat.
Evil_Silverfish
Since noone else has posted a reply,, here is the section from my .sif file[identification]JoinDomain=Your_DomainDomainAdmin=Your_Domain_Admin_AccountDomainAdminPassword=Actual_Password_in_clear_textMachineObjectOU = "OU = DRDL Laptops,OU = DRDL Standard Computers,OU = DRDL Client Computers,DC = drdl,DC=newgrp,DC = co,DC = uk"This works for me.I think I have read somewhere that you can replace the password in clear text with an asterisk (*) and it will then prompt for password, but I have not tested that. The actual link to the Microsoft technet document is here:http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechn...0e0d7ae878.mspx Edited August 9, 2005 by Evil_Silverfish
Refuse_
Does the user you specify as the domainadmin account have the needed rights ?Adding a pc to active directory is one thing, but moving it (or joining it) from the default computer container to a specific ou needs special rights like create, move, delete object on the default computer container and the specified ou.Works like a charm at my organisation.
