own icons

Recommended Posts

How can i insert my own icons in my unattended install of windows xp sp2 pro?

I've downloaded an edited shell32.dll with nice icons and switched it to test it on my own os.

But it was a shell32 from a english version of windows and everything crashed.

(my version is dutch)

I can't change the icons manually with resedit because that would take years. :P

Pls can some1 help me?

thanks

Filip

this is what i would do...

grab restorator2004 (shareware) it lets you grab multiple resources at the same time and import them on another archive:

export>all of this type

assign>autoasign

you'll find this easy after a few tries.

then grab modifype and finally makecab the file (you'll find interesting this link)

I would Not Trust a Script to replace 200 icons or do menu modification or string replacements.

You Can Use Script For Resource Hacker. I have attempted this before and found

it to be not to good. Missing Icon Messed Up menus and no string replacement.
