Unattended MCE Install?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if anyone has done an unattended MCE install?

I wish to reduce the number of disk from 2 to 1. How can I get the install to look for the files on the first instead of second CD?

2.) Can I eliminate some directories (Lanq, support, etc.)?

3.) Is the winnt.sif the same as XP pro?

Any suggestion will be more than appreciated. Thanks!!

Combine 2 cd to 1 cd.. just copy the folders on CD2 to CD1
2.) Can I eliminate some directories (Lanq, support, etc.)?

Yes, you can delete some directories (lang, support, etc.)

3.) Is the winnt.sif the same as XP pro?

Yes, the winnt.sif is the same as Pro.

Hi all

I made yesterday a Dutch MCE2005 what i DID: ;)

* COPY CONTENTS CD1 +2 IN A FOLDER LIKE C:\MCE

* Download Nlite open it and point to that folder

* remove some programs/folders/languages

* close Nlite ,goto C:\MCE\I386\ and find TXTSETUP and open whit notepad

* change all the %cd2name% --> %cdname%

* open notepad,copy paste text below and replace XXXXX_XXXXX whit your own serial,finally save as WINNT.SIF and put this in your C:\MCE\I386\ folder

*open Nlite make a bootable ISO and burn it on a single cd and install it unattended. :thumbup
