Hello

NOT WORKED NCAB FOR Nero Ultra Edition 6.6.1.15c

PLease Fix Nero ASK Toolbar

and

Nero The Weather Channel Desktop

Quick web search tured out the following:

How to get wehater Channel and the other toolbars out:

remove the files in Nero-6.6.1.15c_wch.exe

replace description in winrar:

SFX script commands

to start setup with

Setup=setupx.exe /SFX

from Setup=NeroBar.exe /SFX

replace the installer script file Setupx.cfg with the one from Nero-6.6.1.15_no_at.exe

voila, install without any toolbar and lightscribe enabled!

Worked like a charm for me on XP.

However, on Win2k you get errors related to the included gdiplus.dll.

If you delete all instances of it from the installation directories it appears to run without a hitch.

Edit: it appears I had a corrupted file, now it's running great without that modification. However, I had to manually add the main help files to the source, then use NCAB to add the NVE help files (languagepack) to the custom setup--it wouldn't add both.

P.S. The requisite: "Google is your friend!" is in order.

that is to say extract orginall installer Nero-6.6.1.15c_wch.exe and

1.remove wehater Channel and ask toolbar

2.add all file to winrar.sfx and replace this comment to the winrar

;The comment below contains SFX script commands

Setup=setupx.exe /SFX

from Setup=NeroBar.exe /SFX

TempMode

Silent=2

Overwrite=1

3.replace Setupx.cfg with script Setupx.cfg from Nero-6.6.1.15_no_at.exe version

meaning

if mean then need to script Setupx.cfg Nero-6.6.1.15_no_at.exe

  • 8 months later...

I just wanted to bring up a very severe issue with this "custom installer" maker that I encountered tonight...

In the setup batch file, the (mis)use of "XCOPY" to completely overwrite the Program Files folder with the Nero contents of the Program Files folder completely cripples a system that uses a mounted drive as its Program Files folder, due to what appears to be a bug in Xcopy (which I haven't used in years!). That means, that the system ends up with a dislocated Program Files folder (no longer a mounted drive) that only has the Nero contents in it. If the computer reboots under this condition without knowing the problem was there, it'll be one long hair pulling session to get the drive located back in its proper place! This seriously needs to be addressed. Fortunately I caught the problem, deleted the files from the Program Files folder, then re-mounted the drive before anything serious happened.

Why doesn't the "custom installer" simply extract (with WinRAR) to the system root, which will allow WinRAR to handle the overwriting of files, then let the batch file work with the in-place files? :(
