I just keep getting this error when starting the custom installer I've built:

"7-Zip

The system cannot find the file specified."

I've been messing around in system32 so the installer did not work for some reason. However, all I had to do was extract all files from the EXE with WinRAR.

I noticed something when I had installed. There's still a shortcut in the start menu for that Special Offer thing.

No, but you can stop Nero Express popups during CD insertions by uncommenting the ::

In otherwords, remove the :: in front of the reg delete code.

@devilrunner

Do ncab installers of nero support the 64bit OS?
I don't know.
I know that the official installers of nero 6.x recognizes 64bit OS and installs differently then 32bit.
If you mean differently as in different install directory \Program Files(x86) ....

then I would try opening Nero_Installer.cmd

look for this line

set NeroDir=%ProgramFiles%\Ahead

Replace it with

set NeroDir=%ProgramFilesDir(x86)%\Ahead

(maybe someone can confirm this variable exists)

Does the installprocedure change in any way with this ncab ?
No, but NCAB will remove any Win9x files and certain DLLs which are not necessary if you have WinXP SP-2. The actual setup routine is still Nero's own installer.

Good Luck

I would seem ahead have been monitoring this forum a quote from betanews about the new nero 7

"The company has also added the capability for a custom install, meaning users can select which Nero 7 applications are loaded onto their machines."

Yaaaa at last, knowing ahead tho they will most likely leave a load of stuff out so any word on when NCAB will support nero 7 :thumbup ?

Original story can be found here

i like ncab & all, but its now a msi, so u can (theoretically) create an admin install point & make an mst to install silently, so some1 would have 2 design something to strip out all components based on the mst (much like office shrinker)

NEW Nero 6.0 versions are out:

Nero Burning Rom v6.6.0.18

NeroVision Express v3.1.0.21

(Uncheck Yahoo Toolbar so you don't get the corresponding file that has it integrated)

NCAB works perfectly with both!!!

Just use the Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe package, the no_yt mean no Yahoo toolbar bundled in. :thumbup

like in this link:

ftp://ftp.us2.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe
