The Unofficial Win98 SE Service Pack is obviously for Win98 SE [second edition] only and NOT for any other release of Win98 such as Win98 first edition.

shawn604_3, the differences between Win98 1st ed. and Win98 2nd ed. are NOT so obvious. You actually have to "dig deep" in both of those versions of Win98 to see the differences.

For example, Win98fe has embedded IE4 SP1 while Win98se has embedded IE5.

Win98 SE has internet connection sharing (ICS) feature, Win98 FE does not.

Win98se has improved ACPI [advanced configuration power interface] power management features than ones found in Win98fe. And Win98se supports more hardware because it has more built-in drivers for several devices than Win98fe.

And note the versioning of the two editions of Win98:

Win98 first edition is 4.10.1998. Win98 second edition is 4.10.2222.
