I have tried F-Prot 3 16b for a while and must say it misses a LOT of viruses, I even pointed the scanner directly to the directory but didnt say anything... :blink:

Ver lean on resources, but...

Just my 2 cents worth..

what did it miss?

PS fprot 3.16c still silently installs using above

Cant remember now, but I know there was a worm and something other....also did point it directly to a directory where I have a few keyloggers...nothing.

Also had problems uninstalling it, wouldnt start the uninstaller...

EDIT: when trying to pack it in a sfx a get corrupt message, but still the installer works....could be something at my end.

Just ignore my input for now.

can somebody please tell me how to enable the scheduler using the setup.iss file? For some strange reason I want it installed :P

EDIT: Nevermind, eventhough I used the search function I couldn't find it, but I simply searched over the forums and after some hours I found some of swampy's post, may I quote you? as a reference for others in my case:

(here's an explanation on how to create a setup.iss file)

Hi all you f-prot users.

First Post! :thumbup

Found a way to get this thing (3.16c) to go silent with the scheduler.

Just got to edit the registry a bit before and a bit after install. Bit clunky but I don't find the scheduler as annoying as some do so here goes.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\FRISK Software International\F-SCHED\Settings]
"RunExpiredTasks"=dword:00000000
"RunOnStartUp"=dword:00000000
"ShowIcon"=dword:00000000

will stop the scheduler from starting up after install using the extracted installer files:

...\setup.exe /HIDDEN

Then just use an edit of the same regfile with the dword values at 00000001 to reset the scheduler to start on reboot etc

That **** /NORUN switch is bogus IMO and I tried running the /IMPORT=xxxx.xxx and /IMPORTREG=xxxx.xxx switches but they don't seem to work.

The switches are here if anybody is bored. ;)

I run both my regfiles from RunOnceEx.cmd (offsched.reg before apps and onsched.reg after the apps)

Hope this helps someone else
