DiGGiTY Posted April 13, 2005 Share Posted April 13, 2005 The P4 3e (Prescott core) will benchmark higher than the P4 2.8 (Northwood core). Comparing to AMD the P4 3e performs like an Athlon 64 3000+/3200+ while the P4 2.8 compares with the 2700+.Also, the Prescott core is the future, whereas Northwood will eventually be discontinued. B) AMD for me here LOLAny way, I would go for the socket 775 Pentium also i.s.o. the "old" 478 socketed model, altrough I thought it uses more expensive DDR2 RAM. MCT Posted April 13, 2005 Share Posted April 13, 2005 im currently using the P4 3.0E & its good.. cpu temps r a little high tho.. so id make sure u have alot of fans or water cooling i currently have..92mm CPU fan (zalman)3 80mm Fanskeeps it around 40c without them. just using stock.. i got like 70c or higher :S Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
