Check copying like said, but if you still have problems then here is something:

The copy command must work becuase if the command isnt there you get

'commnad' is not recongized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file
So we know that the copy command is ok. Have you tries something like alcohol to just make an image of the disk, then just copy it from the image.

Most likely it is not a bad file, but rather a disc imperfection. Wipe the CD down first from center to outer edge (not in circles) with a lint free cloth and a disc cleaning agent or plain water.

Make sure the disc is completely dry before placing it back in the CD tray.

As mentioned above, Alcohol 120 is the perfect tool for this--but if you dont want to bother, just XCOPY it

I used to get that "Invalid MS-DOS function error" quite often when I used "cheap" cd-r's. I got them from a liquidator place for about $10 (Canadian) for a spindle of 50. They were unbranded and quite obviously cheap when I opened the package.

I never found a way to around the problem -- sorry.

Tip for n00bs: Buy branded media and preferably NOT from a discount bin.
