Phew! Second the opinion on [not] rapidshare. But, hey, thanks to maximus-decim for the great job he's doing!

BTW what did wdmstub.sys do or otherwise to warrant its removal?

the driver works quite good, except for the fact that i receive a bsod after removing my (usb-2.0-) memory stick. however to see it working (i.e. reading and writing) is a huge improvement, since before my system would crash upon inserting :)

is this a known bug or simply incompatible with my hardware (via kt800, socket 754)?

Did you stop the device before removing? I'm asking because XP doesn't complain when removing devices directly but in 98/ME/2k you need to stop them first using the system tray icon, and if you do not do that, in Windows 98, you'll get a BSOD.

yep, crashes no matter i stop the device or not :-/

could 3.1 fix this?

Instructions say to uninstall current usb drivers. I have a Jumpdrive Trio that is working just fine under win98 (takes SMS, SD, XD), and one of those frustrating valgear GXT usb keys (GXT-64MB-PD to be exact) that won't work in win98. Does this mean I have to rip out my good trio drivers, or can I just supplement them with the NUSB install?

Thanks

I just installed NUSB 3.0e last week. It works great. It is even faster than the original driver for my Kingston DTII. It detects faster and I can unplug the thumb drive without worrying that the computer will hang when shut down. Great job Maximus Decim. Thanks.

Now, what should I expect from NUSB 3.1e?

Hey there MD, been using NUSB for a while now and its great! Thanks ...

However, it would be excellent to have the installer package behave like other MS hotfixes, ie if you use the /Q:A /R:N switch, the installer shouldn't prompt to reboot. When i first tried 3.0 out it seemed to work as expected. But when i use it inside Auto-Patcher within the batch script, the reboot prompt appears (i'm assuming 3.1 does the same). I've made my own installer to get around this, but just letting you know that this is happening and that at the moment i'm packaging my own version of NUSB31 for inclusion in AP.

Hope that's OK ... sop.

EDIT: actually i'm still having problems, my installer is doing the same thing --- i can't seem to be able to create an unattended installer -- is this by design? I understand that the reboot has to occur at some point, and i am coding the update to install by itself and immediately reboot but it seems its not enough

... is there something in the INF file i can change to stop the reboot prompt?
