totoymola Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 Very nice program! I will try it. But wait, I noticed that the installer will be a 7zip sfx. So there's no uninstaller, right?

So there's no uninstaller, right?<{POST_SNAPBACK}>this is just a packager that will repackage the original installer then run it. it seems incredibly similar to simon's but more easily configured and with a GUI.
LaptoniC Posted April 6, 2005 Author Posted April 6, 2005 Found another bug If you choose original firefox setup from other directory than sof.exe resides, it gives error.Hope it is fixed now.Download links also fixed on the first post.
patzzz Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 Thanks LaptoniC for your effort, it is a program very useful.
Swimming_Bird Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 i was wondering about some of the prefs.js options that i couldnt find in http://www.mozilla.org/unix/customizing.html#prefsfirst of all i was wondering what was the pref to make it ask where to download the file every time?
bonedaddy Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 @Laptonic could you check your PM's, sorry didn't know you were here..........BD
gmx Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 SOF didn't copy my extentions [tabmix and menu editor only 2 i had installed]
LaptoniC Posted April 7, 2005 Author Posted April 7, 2005 It doesnt copy extensions or themes from your original installation as said in readme. You have to put original themes and extensions to corresponding drectories. So, you have to download theme and extension files again but do not install it.Just put Theme files(.jar) to your themes directory and Extension files(.xpi) to extensions directory.Hope you got it now.
bonedaddy Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 Hi LaptoniC Well instead of using the .xpi and .jar, like a dummy I've been using the whole longstring after they been installed. It works but pointless, the extensions have problemsbut can be made to work......downloading new files now...........thanks for easy to use program........BD
eben Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 great app, but i have one request:please make it possible to include components folder because some plugins have components in there. real and qt alternative for example. xcopying them is a complementary step that shouldnt be needed fo such a great app.edit: thx for confirmation
Nanaki Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 i was wondering about some of the prefs.js options that i couldnt find in http://www.mozilla.org/unix/customizing.html#prefsfirst of all i was wondering what was the pref to make it ask where to download the file every time?<{POST_SNAPBACK}>browser.download.useDownloadDir
LaptoniC Posted April 7, 2005 Author Posted April 7, 2005 I will add components directory as well. However before doing updates I want to hear what you want more.It isnt good to upload new files after each feature request because my connection isnt so good.Currently planning---------------------* Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\components folder* mimeTypes.rdf (what to do with each file ie. download execute etc)
Swimming_Bird Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 what i would like in next versoins is a prefs.js compiler. something that you can just set all the settins you want and will generate a prefs file.
viriiman Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 1) To be able to set firefox as the default browser automatically2) a slightly clearer guide packaged w/ sof on where you need to put plugins, themes, etc.
