Windows Me & 98se Cd Key

Recommended Posts

I am working on a DVD with all my operating systems.  Like XP you can save the CD key in a file such that you do not have to enter it!  Is there a way of doing this with ME and 98SE.  Any help and advice would be apreciated.

Regards The_Flying_Scot

Placing an Msbatch.inf in the Win98 folder for 98 & Win9x folder for ME with each

OS's prod key

This is a basic msbatch.inf for either of the 2.

These were the one's in the MSDN copies of the OS's I own.

The X's are going to be the keys as you'd guess.

Be advised that the method is a little more involved if you are working with an OEM version of Windows 98SE (and ME?) vs. the retail version. You will need to refine your msbatch.inf to include an [OPKInstall] section as seen in the example HERE.
