suryad Posted March 7, 2005 Share Posted March 7, 2005 Yep HT is pretty cool methinks. I read Intel plans on having 4 threads running at the same time on the new dual core EE coming out soon. Yikes..and I read that they will jump to 8 threads by the end of the decade but no higher since there are no performance increases given the architecture. So interesting stuff. Reporting that is has two processors doesn't mean that it's running two at 3.4, it means it's like running two at 1.7.Besides, hard drives are the biggest bottlenecks in terms of speed so you really won't feel much difference at all. soldier1st Posted March 8, 2005 Share Posted March 8, 2005 i have a amd athlon 64 3000+ with hyper transport technology and it reports it as one,strange as yours is seen as 2,do you have 2 cpus in that mobo or one?if one then maybe update the bios or cpu driver then it may fix it.
