There is the part of XPCREATE.LOG (where 2 consecutive empty lines have been replaced by a single one):

Writing 7757 files in 334 directories to XPCR6_05.ISO

ERROR: Could not open file "G:\XPCREATE\XPCR6_05\CDROOT\$OEM$\$1\InstallFolders\Add\Administrateur\Favoris\Liens\WinXP Unatt\MSFN\MSFN - HOTFIXES Win2000 SP4 - WinXP SP1 - WinXP SP2.url"

The specific error code (file not found) could indicate that the file was
deleted by another process after the directory scan, or it could indicate
that the filename contains some Unicode characters that do not have a
corresponding OEM character mapping (try using -c, or use -j1 or -j2
for full Unicode names).

Perhaps is the filename too long?

Either that, or CDIMAGE ne parle pas de Francais!

Try a shorter name, e.g. "MSFN - Hotfixes" instead of "MSFN - HOTFIXES Win2000 SP4 - WinXP SP1 - WinXP SP2", and see what happens.

There is not much I can do there. I don't like the suggested switches so much, but I may include a XPCREATE.INI setting that allows the user to specify the CDIMAGE command line.

Let me know what works!

Thanks, mdes. I'm not sure if there will be repercussions down the line, but I will add another INI variable for CDIMAGE Command Line.

Thanks GM :thumbup

Perhaps some other programs will require also some options? :P

WGET.EXE

BBIE.EXE

CABARC.EXE

CDBURN.EXE

CDIMAGE.EXE

DVDBURN.EXE

FILECASE.EXE

GSAR.EXE

INIMAN.EXE

INITOOL.EXE

Give them an inch, and they want a mile (that's about 1.6 Km!)

We'll see ...

WGET has options.

BBIE does not need it.

CABARC does not need it (used for repacking something).

CDBURN has options.

DVDBURN has options.

FILECASE does not need it.

GSAR does not need it (used for updating the GDIDETECT Tool INI).

INIMAN does not need it (updates WINNT.SIF with path).

INIMAN does not need it (get values from XPCREATE.INI).

I think I'm all set!

I think that an additional switch in XPCREATE.INI will be better, because
-c  use ANSI filenames versus OEM filenames from source

works :)

DOES NOT WORK :blushing: Create some of my folders with bad characters :realmad:

But creating an INI variable for CDIMAGE Command Line is still a bonus...

I suspected as much. I played with the settings a while before deciding on what I have. I thought that switch changed $OEM$ to _OEM_. Perhaps it was another ... But I will give you a Bonus!

No, only some accentuated characters were changed "é" to "Ú" not all "é" !!! XCOPY created such "Ú", but not MOVE: very very strange),...

Why does DOS does not use ANSI characters

ps: Thanx for the future bonus :thumbup

I still love my OS MUMPS. Only had 7 bit characters. Simplicity!

I used MUMPS only a few in the past, and I was impressed, but not as much as FORTH where you construct your own "instructions" (words) :thumbup
