Hotfix update package...quick and easy!

Recommended Posts

Download this file and extract it into I386 folder (replace ALL!)

http://bis.midco.net/lradunovic/HFSP2.zip

It applies to all Windows XP Service Pack 2 version(Pro, Home, Media, Tablet)

It's gonna reduce your update down to 5 hotfixes :)

One of those 5 is update for Windows Messenger...

Enjoy!!!

Only apply to clean Windows XP SP2 installation (NO SVCPACK!!!)

Now let's go through and see what's wrong with this pack....

A. CAT files are not installed and as such WFP will not recognize them

B. Registry entries not added where neccesary. WU will still show them.

Dude you're wrongggggggggggggggggggggggggg!!!

Replace those file in your i386 installation folder. It has nothing to do with the hotfixes update as you used to install using switches and other crap...

You don't need registry entries, and cat...

As I said, simply replace the same files in your i386 installation folder and you're good to go...

This small package doesn't include 5 hotfixes, and one of those is update for windows messenger which is nothing but new executable file which could be packed using makecab and replaced in SP2 installation folder, and after you integrate SP2 into Windows XP :) you have patched windows messenger as well..

i haven't tested this so i just speak from my knowledge: without .cat or reg entries that probe you've installed hotfixes there's no go. probably you checked it on an already updated system.

also i suppose this is english located so BE AWARE non-english unattenders.

next, you haven't said what hotfixes you included that would be helpful.

finally just 2 advices, first don't use 3 posts to remark what you said and

don't clone your post just to attrack users attention.

don't wanna offend, just my 2 cents ;)

I guess this little package kills the purpose of this site...

Yes, you've outdone everyone here. Now, we're all mad at you. Perhaps you could sell this to Microsoft? It would save them a lot of time and bandwidth. All we can do is cry that we never thought of this.
