RIS - WinXP SP2 FW issue

Lo folks

Implemented my SP2 image on the Win2003 Server RIS, the WinXP FireWall is turned of via the .sif file for the domain profile. I have ensured this through port scan / GUI and the log file of the installed target machines. I also can "push" applications toward the machine from our central distribution tool (not AD GPO).

I have installed 12 machines so far in my test environment succesfully.

So far so good...

Issue: number 13. FW turned ON :(

The .sif file is the same (FW turned off), no GPO for controlling the FW in place in my AD (no SP2 .adm) and the .inf file for controlling the WinXP firewall is also set to turning the FW off. Just like the 12 machines before...

tried to reinstall the two machines, number 11 (a succesfull) and 13 (the faulty), with same outcome...

i am out of clues.. any suggestions?

Hi,

I'm not sure if this will help but if you run these registry entries on the build (use cmdlines.txt to run an XXXXX.reg file) it should disable the Firewall & security completely. I found that using the .SIF file did not completely disable the firewall. :o
