prathapml
Post your favourite publicly usable proxy server which you use to surf.Hopefully it will support all normal site features. What's the advantage of surfing by proxy? You become anonymous. And you can fool sites that go by your IP address. And it lends you a sense of security. And why is this topic existing when google exists?Because google can't be asked about the preferences of msfn visitors. Also, google would just return lots of results, whereas YOU would post tried and tested and trusted addresses.Example:http://www.w3privacy.com/http://www.proxyweb.net/http://proxify.com/Where to get source code of anonymizer (cgi proxy)http://www.jmarshall.com/tools/cgiproxy/CGIProxy 2.0.1HTTP/FTP Proxy in a CGI ScriptWhat it isThis CGI script acts as an HTTP or FTP proxy. Through it, you can retrieve any resource that is accessible from the server it runs on. This is useful when your own access is limited, but you can reach a server that in turn can reach others that you can't. In addition, the user is kept as anonymous as possible from any servers. Common uses include: anonymous proxies similar to The Anonymizer, other personal uses, VPN-like functionality, and others. It's very simple to install, and very configurable. When an HTML resource is retrieved, it's modified so that all links in it point back through the same proxy, including images, form submissions, and everything else. Once you're using the proxy, you can browse normally and (almost) forget it's there. Configurable options include text-only support (to save bandwidth), selective cookie and script removal, simple ad filtering, access restriction by server, custom encoding of target URLs and cookies, and more-- there are about 45 options so far. It can run under mod_perl unchanged. It requires Perl 5.004 or later; Perl 5.6.1 or later may be required in future releases.

neil
Here are my experiences:www.w3privacy.com - service temporarily suspended. no good.www.proxyweb.com - just plain didn't work. script error? Plus loads adult pop-ups.www.proxify.com - just adds requested page to url in proxy script iehttp://proxify.com/p/011110A0000110/http/www.ebay.com/this is no good if trackers and firewalls are keyword and url based (if ebay.com was banned then it still wouldn't load, since 'ebay' appears in the url). Also the top of the page is crammed with adverts and useless links. You have to scroll down to view the page. Also many pages are only available to subscribers - ebay being one of them.My best proxy experience so far is PHPProxyhttp://jinfyre.com/ruby/ has a fully functional advanced version of the above PHPProxy, which scrambles the url with base64 or rotate13 encoding.I use it in college, where downloading any filetype other than .doc or .pdf and viewing .mpgs have been restricted. And since PHPProxy can be downloaded you can upload it to your own server and browse from your personal web page, which is shown as the referring page in monitoring software, ie you view ebay.com but the software see's jinfyre.com.Quoted from http://www.whitefyre.com/poxy/What is PHProxy?PHProxy is a web HTTP (for now; FTP is not supprted yet) proxy programmed in PHP designed to bypass firewalls and other proxy restrictions through a web interface very similar to the popular CGIProxy. School/country/company blocked your favorite website? Look no further! The server that this script runs on simply acts as a medium that retrives resources for you. The only IP address shown will be the server's IP address. So basically, it is indirect browsing. The only catch being that the server has to has access to those otherwise inaccessible resources. UsageYou simply supply a URL to the form and click Browse. The script then accesses that URL, and if it has any HTML contents, it modifies any tags that might contain URIs so that they point back to the script. You also have options of disabling JavaScript, accepting cookies, showing images, etc. that are available through the web interface.
