Drewdatrip
Id go with WD they seem to be the best built, for longevity and heavy use, as for the size, get what ever you can afford...the biiger the better =Drew
Rick
Not sure where you live...go add your country flag! :-)If you are in the US...go to www.xpbargains.com when you look for your HDD. There are some pretty good coupons on there. They find mistakes too! I found a 120GB HDD on there for $19! No kidding...of course, that deal only stayed up for a few hours before Office Depot realized that people were robbing them blind! LOLRick
DJ Specs
I tend to go with Western Digital or Maxtor. WD is a bit more expensive, but durable.Maxtor is actually a bit more quiet, and less expensive.

zivan56
I would not recommend anything from Western Digital, I have had 3 drives go bad from them (800mb, 2gb, and a 4gb), they of course stopped working only a few months after the warranty expired. I stay clear of them and buy only Maxtor/Seagate. The only one that I have that still works is the 10GB model.
dj1luv
any suggestions on the bearing type eg. IBM(Fluid).
Tinker
I do not own a fluid HDD but I have read that they should be quieter than ball. I was going to get a fluid drive but they were out of stock at my supplier when I need a drive so I went with ball.....
