Astalavista Posted November 27, 2004 Posted November 27, 2004 here is my problemI followed the silent install method of installing Alcohol 120.now i applied this registry tweak so that it will automatically set the Emulations.Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Alcohol Soft\Alcohol 120%\Options]"Language"="1033""DiscType"="SafeDisc 2/3"[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Alcohol Soft\Alcohol 120%\Options\Display]"AutostartWhenWindowsStartup"="0""ExecuteInFullScreen"="0""ListPhysicalDevicesFirst"="0""CleanFileListBeforeImporting"="1""NotifyDiscrepanciesWithImageFiles"="0""ShowApplicationIn"="0""ShutdownApplicationAfterPushingCloseBtn"="1""TrayIconIndex"="0"[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Alcohol Soft\Alcohol 120%\Options\Emulation]"LaunchCDVDManagerWithoutIgnoreMediaTypeFunction"="1"[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Alcohol Soft\Alcohol 120%\Options\General]"OneInstanceOnly"="1""AutoCheckCurrentVersionViaInternetAtStart"="1""EnableScreenSaver"="1""DeleteFileDirectly"="0""EnableAutoPlay"="1""IOControlInterface"="1"[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Alcohol Soft\Alcohol 120%\Options\Reading]"ExamineTheAccuracyOfDataReadFromDevice"="1""EjectSourceDiscAfterProcess"="1""NumberOFRetriesBeforeReadingError"="0""StartingASSAfterContinuseBadSectors"="8""DefaultASSJumpFactor"="100""DefaultDPMMeasuringPrecision"="1""LockTheDeviceWhileGettingDPMdataFromTheMedia"="1"[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Alcohol Soft\Alcohol 120%\Options\Recording]"EjectDiscAfterRecording"="1""EjectDiscAfterErasing"="1""OverBurnDisc"="0""DeAciveSpeedOptimum"="0""FillMemoryBufferBeforeWritingData"="1""MemoryBufferSize"="128""CPUPriorityLevel"="0"[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Alcohol Soft\Alcohol 120%\Options\Shell Extension]"ExchangeIconForAlcoholDefault"="0""EnableOtherExtensions"="0""OtherExtensions"=""[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Alcohol Soft\Alcohol 120%\Options\Virtual drive]"MountImageTo1stDeviceOnDblClickingImageFile"="1"However, when i first boot my U.A. Xp. And i try to play my SafeDisc Protectedd 2.9 copy. It says pls insert correct cd-rom.I then launch Alcohol 120, it starts to install virtual drive and who knows what else. (cuz it doesn't say what it is doing.)Then I run the copied CD, it now works fine. i don't get it???What am i missing here?
sixpack Posted November 27, 2004 Posted November 27, 2004 I then launch Alcohol 120, it starts to install virtual drive and who knows what else. (cuz it doesn't say what it is doing.)my guess is that the virtual drive is not insalled in your ua setuptry to put every thing Alcohol 120 installs in program files in a sfx setup and register your reg file
Astalavista Posted November 27, 2004 Author Posted November 27, 2004 according to the developers at alcohol No what matter is written in the registry, Alcohol does not apply any settings to the virtual drive until first run.next question, then how do i get clonecd to automatically activate hide CD-R and hide the tray icon?
totoymola Posted November 27, 2004 Posted November 27, 2004 that is true. most of the settings of alcohol are automatically set when you run it for the first time. so you don't have to add that long list of registry settings. just import the necessary settings (emulation i think because that is not automatically set.).Try adding just this[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Alcohol Soft\Alcohol 120%\Options\Emulation]"LaunchCDVDManagerWithoutIgnoreMediaTypeFunction"="1"
totoymola Posted November 27, 2004 Posted November 27, 2004 to remove the tray icon of clonecd, use taskkill, and import this regREGEDIT4[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SlySoft\CloneCD\Settings]"CCDTrayStatus"=dword:00000000
