McAfee Internet Security Suite, silent install

Hi everyone!

When you've got the entire suite and want to install only some components silently:

Start the setup and when the first screen appears

go to you %temp% folder and there you find the installation files in different folders for each product.

You can then copy these directory's (while the setup window is still open)

In each directory is a separate setup.exe which you can run and it will install silently.

And, if you want, you can create a self extracting archive of each component that runs setup after unpacking.

you don't have to check the temp folder.

just check your install CD.

D:\mis\enu

this is an easy way to find the silent installers on MIS 7.0

this also works great with the german version!!

so just copy the folders of the specific part of

M.I.S.S. (i.e.:MPS=McAfeePrivacyService)

into your Application folder on the XPCD.

and from there you can start it and it will

install unattended!

here are the parts from my runonceex.cmd:

REG ADD %KEY%\085 /VE /D "McAfee-VirusScan" /f

REG ADD %KEY%\085 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\install\Applications\McAfee\VS\setup.exe" /f

REG ADD %KEY%\086 /VE /D "McAfee-PersonalFirewall" /f

REG ADD %KEY%\086 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\install\Applications\McAfee\MPF\setup.exe" /f

REG ADD %KEY%\087 /VE /D "McAfee-PrivacyService" /f

REG ADD %KEY%\087 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\install\Applications\McAfee\MPS\setup.exe" /f

and the great thing is that YOU can decide wich parts are being installed on your machine!
