Recommended Posts

Thanks for your reminder. No success even with these running. Someone has exactly this problem on MS Newsgroup:

http://support.microsoft.com/newsgroups/ne...&sloc=en-us&p=1

...

Solved

(Is the Program Files folder on another drive than the one that the

WINDOWS directory was installed to ?....from MS Newsgroup, Mowgreen MVP)

http://support.microsoft.com/newsgroups/ne...&sloc=en-us&p=1

 I do have my Program Files folder on the D:\ drive and I didn't had any problem with the latest hotfixes... do you?

Thanks upon comparison i was only missing 900930

I'm all cool...

You seem to have 896727 missing and 887472 is useless unless you have Windows Messenger 5 or MSN Messenger 6.1 or 6.2.

Also what is WGA.exe & WUv6?

EDIT: Any idea where I can get a trial for Microsoft Windows XP as Microsoft dont seem to have it :(

KB896727 is superseeded by other update I think ...

KB887472 is installed just to keep Windows Update clean :) (and however it's disabled in windows componants) ... and I install MSN Messenger 7.2 too ...

WGA.exe is Windows Genuine Agent to authenticate version of windows ...

WUv6.exe is the Windows Update v6 components (nothing to install to go to windowsupdate.com)

For the windows trial, I think you must have a msdn account ... or perhaps with a passport account ? ... Personnaly, I have severals OEM version ... if you have your license you can download the OEM version on P2P/FTP (it isn't illegal I think ...)

WUv6.exe is international version of Windows Update v6.

The information on how to find the downloaded hotfixes on my system was very useful. Now, at the risk of sounding silly for not seeing it elsewhere, how would I integrate that into the .iso? I have been trying to use HFSlip for this, but I am willing to learn a different way.

I am not trying to be lazy here! hehe I have looked for the last few hours to find this information if it is aleady posted. Just no success yet.

There's actually quite a few different ways of accomplishing this. Check out the MSFN Unattended Guide for instructions on using some of them.

Well, I have. The reason I asked though is that the hotfixes listed on my computer are all .psm files. nLite doesn't recognize them nor does hfSlip. I did get hf slip to work after downloading all of them. I just wondered if there was a way to do it with the already downloaded files.

Thanks for the reply though.
