3D Windows XP screensaver

Recommended Posts

Correction. While the /q switch can be used to install the screen saver, the Display Properties launches after the install.

You can use winzip to extract the .scr file from the installer or just grab the screen saver from your system32 directory. Just place that in $OEM$\$$\system32 on your CD. You can compress it if you like but uncompressed, it only requires 1.55MB of space. It doesn't really need to be installed, just copied over during setup.

My way of doing it is to specify 3DWindowsXP as part of my theme.

You have to add this line to your Winnt.sif:

[Shell]
CustomDefaultThemeFile="%WinDir%\Resources\Themes\Royale.theme"

Then add 3D Windows XP.scr in this folder:

$OEM$\$$\System32 (copied to Windows\System32 during setup)

this way, you can also control the Wallpaper and other stuff.

The simplest way to get your theme is to go into Display Property and use the Save as... button when your satisfy with you setup.

Then add your theme into this folder:

$OEM$\$$\Resources\Themes

Hope this help! ;)
