PSKill, Cleanup.cmd, XPTheme Issues

Recommended Posts

Ok... sorry if these are answered somewhere in the MSFN Jungle

1. Is it possible to make cleanup.cmd not open a msdos window?

2. Can I also make PSKill.exe and Sleep.exe not open Msdos Windows?

3. I have followed what information that is available on this site for setting the default theme at install within the winnt.ini, but its not working. I just get the old windows look. I can change to mine later so the uxtheme.dll is patched.

I have edited my .theme to customize sounds and cursors also. :) but believe this isn't the issue...

4. How do I delete links from the "Administrators" Desktop. I have the %ALLUSERSPROFILE% but cannot find anything about any others... I am testing with %ADMINISTRATORPROFILE% later (prob tommorow as its getting too late to install now)

thanks in advance.

Well you can use CMDOW.exe to hide the console rather quickly...or at least I see it for a brief second. Put the executable in your system32 folder under $OEM$ so that it gets copied over to your path.

Then in your batch files put the following code at the top of it -

cmdow @ /HID

Tho I personally am getting around to using AutoIt more for things than batch files.

As for themes....well I use the following entry in my WinNT.sif....don't know about editing the winnt.ini

CustomDefaultThemeFile="%Systemroot%\Resources\Themes\ChaNinja Default.theme"

1.  Is it possible to make cleanup.cmd not open a msdos window?

You can use CMDOW to hide the dos prompt.

2.  Can I also make PSKill.exe and Sleep.exe not open Msdos Windows?

Call them from a batch file & use CMDOW again to hide the window.
