Running a virus scan from another computer and even doing a repair install usually fails to fix it. prathapml Posted September 13, 2004 Share Posted September 13, 2004 Right.Maybe some spy-ware getting in the way of start-up sequence.And also, since its able to come to the login screen fine, that rules out any boot-up related problems. One thing to check could be to get to the classic-login (not the welcome screen) and login. Or, connect that HD elsewhere and clear out the #username#\StartMenu\Startup folder.
