Aegis
I came across an article once that showed how fast a fresh install of SP1 would become infected compared to SP2. I don't remember the exact times, but SP1 became infected in ~15 minutes, while SP2 never got infected.

Blam-O!
SP2 Sucks!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}>No Way!!! SP2 is the best SP for WinXP so far. You must install it on a fresh system or slipstream it though..... Other then that, When M$ made SP2, ther main concern was sercurity and safety for the user. (remember when M$ anounced that SP2 would even work on most illegal copies of Windows XP? They did this to help stop all the stupid crap like Viruses and ad-aware/spyware....If you don't install SP2, your missing out on some good features and overall better security options. IMOYou just have to know how to install windows correctly EDIT: Have you considerd the POLL results? Edited June 30, 2005 by Blam-O!

Justas
Kind of funny looking back at how SP2 was looked at when it was first released... Wonder how we will look back on XP SP3 and Vista SP1...
