ReNeGaDe* Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 Hi there, I'm doing this for the first time and I've tried searching for everything and I just can't decipher how to slipstream my sata raid drivers. I've got an MSI M8N Neo Platinum mobo that uses the nForce 250GB Raid thingy and not the Silicon thingy and everything that I get on searches is to do with the Silicon Image thingy. Now when I do an attended install I have two drivers to install, one for the sata and one for the raid iirc. I've attempted to decipher this: http://greenmachine.msfnhosting.com/READING/addraid.htm but I cannot understand half the stuff in it because it's for the Silicon thingy and I have no way of getting that kind of information for my own driver, so any help would be GREATLY appreciated ,TIAParagEDIT: Forgot to mention I found loadsa things for nForce raid but not nforce 3, as I've tried one with only nforce ones and it couldn't detect anything
RyanVM Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 1.) Download the latest nForce platform drivers (4.27 as of now)2.) Open the exe in WinRAR3.) Browse to the IDE\WinXP directory4.) Extract those files5.) Follow Greenmachine's guide
ReNeGaDe* Posted September 9, 2004 Author Posted September 9, 2004 There's the problem, following greenmachine's guide This is the bit I don't get how to adapt:[sourceDisksFiles]si3112.sys = 1,,,,,,3_,4,1[HardwareIdsDatabase]PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_31121095 = "Si3112"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_34238086 = "Si3112"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_311215D9 = "Si3112"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_B0021458 = "Si3112"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_01661028 = "Si3112"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_82141033 = "Si3112"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3512&SUBSYS_35121095 = "Si3112"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3512&SUBSYS_01661028 = "Si3112"
RyanVM Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 si3112.sys = nvraid.sysPCI DeviceIDs can be gotten out of txtsetup.oem in the folder of files you extracted.EDIT: For more info, read the Notes section at the bottom of GM's page. Most of this information can be derived from the .INF file name of your driver. Replace Si3112 with the that name (less the extension) in the example above. The remaining information, the PCI strings and the Driver Name, can be found in your TXTSETUP.OEM file.
ReNeGaDe* Posted September 10, 2004 Author Posted September 10, 2004 Ok I can't find the pci strings anywhere I've tried looking in txtsetup.sif and in nvraid.inf and there's nothing to do with pci strings for nvraid. I can fins them in the sata one, but not in the raid one. The closest I can get is [NVIDIA]%NVRAID_DESC%=nvraid,GenNvRaidDisk%NVRAID_BUS_DESC%=nvraid,*_NVRAIDBUS
Bâshrat the Sneaky Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 ...and all this is already included in DriverPack MassStorage! You can find it in the stickies of this subforum!
