juneof44 Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 OPEN FILE - SECURITY WARNINGI'm thinking of removing XP all-together (forget SP1) and going back to Windows 2000 just to get rid of that incredibly annoying security warning that pops up EVERY TIME I OPEN A FILE I DOWNLOADED FROM THE INTERNET. I've read several potential fixes but unfortunately my laptop came with XP home edition . . . which is apparently for people who don't know how to avoid viruses on the net.Does anyone know how to turn off this "security warning"?<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Open gpedit.msc --> User Configuration --> Administrative Templates --> Windows Components --> Attachment Manager:1. Default risk level for attachments = Enabled - Low Risk2. Inclusion list for low file types = Enabled - .cmd;.exe;.bat;.vbs3. Do not preserve zone information in attachments = EnabledHTH
