.NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack

If I reason it: Tempmode install to a new Temporary location and will never have to overwrite any files.

WinRAR Help says it all. Just select Self-extracting modules from the helpindex and then the GUI RAR...

All options explained

There's a compressed copy of the installation point. All that remains is to make it into a self extractor.

Please forgive me, but I am still confused about what to do next.

I got the file from RyanVM, (netfxsp1.rar) and not so sure what next. I am trying to slipstream .net FrameWork 1.1 like everyone else here. ;)

I'm confused as to why you keep saying slip stream of net 1.1 with sp1

Cause there is no stream to it...

it is a program just like popupcop , winamp, and all the rest there is nothing to update or slipstream to it...

Just make a installer and install it some where,, pick you spot...

Make a sfx from the rarfile that you downloaded from RyanVM.

You can use winrar, iexpress or powerarchiver or.....

Winrar gives the best compression.

Slipstreaming is when you integrate an update into the original product install (like when people integrate XPSP2 into their install CDs so it doesn't have to be installed after installation). In this thread, we're slipstreaming the .NET 1.1 SP1 update into the original .NET 1.1 install source since there's no download from Microsoft that has SP1 integrated.

Understand now ? If not, I suggest you google "slipstream" and read about what it means, since it seems that you have no clue.

A patch alters files as this process does.

Slipstream just inserts new files.

do you agree.

.msp is a Microsoft Patch file.

:)

Generally, a patch is considered to be something run after the fact. Slipstreaming is done prior.

So I guess I disagree (because if we went with your definition, nobody's slipstreaming SP2 into their install source, which I think MS would even disagree with ;)).
