Quark
I'm almost done tweaking my unattended (well almost unattended) SP2 cd, but I'm still left with one large problem."Welcome to Microsoft Windows" still starts the question if I want to enabled Automatic Updates. I already specified my desired setting with a registry tweak in cmdlines.txt.So I would like to skip this step entirely.I tweaked the key :HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate\Auto Update\AUOptions to my liking.I tried editing the oobeinfo.ini to customize the Welcome tool, and everything works except for SkipAutoUpdates=1 .ref.chm says this:If this option is missing, or if SkipAutoUpdate = 0, the Help Protect Your PC page displays in Windows Welcome. OEMs are required to display the Help Protect Your PC page. Only IT corporate administrators may use SkipAutoUpdate to hide this page. Does anyone know how to get rid of this screen? How do I tell the setup program that I allowed to use SkipAutoUpdate?
benners
In your winnt.sif file add [Data]AutomaticUpdates = Yes
Quark
Sorry, forgot to mention that.I already had AutomaticUpdates=1 in my [Data] section of winnt.sif.I have no idea why windows setup ignores that setting in winnt.sif.. Does anyone have an idea?
Lucius Snow
Same problem. I can't get rid of the "Help protect" page with AutomaticUpdates=1 in my winnt.sif. Creating an oobeinfo.ini with SkipAutoUpdate didn't do anything either.
