i'm not using any antivirus

the only things i got installed is my audio driver (Cmedia 97), my ATI CAT driver, .NET, SQL 2000 SERVER (the problem was there even before i had it), and some games

Good to know ;)

Anyways, antivirus like McAfee are fine. Regular updates. I'd recommend Norton Antivirus, but I think it's on the black list by microsoft  :blink:

Blacklist??????

what do you mean???

there is a Serial Number list of the Windows XP on the blacklist.

but why do you think NAV is on the blacklist of Microsoft?

I think he/she wanted to say that NAV is one of the apps that would lose functionality under SP2!

What I want to say is SP2 must be blacklisted by users who have similar apps. ;)

Hi,

I had the same problem with a downloaded file, it would not install, but I went at it a different way, rather than saving the download file, I clicked on open and it downloaded and installed without a problem. Why the difference, who knows, after all, this is microsoft *smile*. :rolleyes:

Dakota SunRunner :wacko:

Oops.. foregot about this thread..

@Dutchy, ever figure it out?

Also, reason I asked as far as AntiVirus as there is a bit of a install problem with Avast (I use) and sp2 that prevent InstallShield isntlallers in particulair from running. This is weather or not the windows installer is messed up or not (also common to sp2).
