goldenegg
I am having a problem where every time that i open a folder in windows explorer which contains audio or mp3 files windows automatically opens windows installer and a message appears "preparing to install" then installation fails and another box appears stating "the network feature you are trying to use is a network service that is unavailable""Click OK to try again or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'HMTCDWizard.msi' in the box below""C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Installations\{54BCC744-3023-4F21-9945-723EA7E7DB0C}\"I have searched for both this file and 'HMTCDWizard.msi' to no avail.Does anyone know what i can do either locate the installation file or stop the automatic installation from happening?I appreciate your help.Paris Searles
Pyron
I think your system is missing the HighMAT-CD-Wizard, downloadable as an optional package from Windows Update. Try installing that again.Microsoft Knowledge Base-- Pyron
goldenegg
thanks for the tip, but, i downloaded the file and wheni tried to install it i got the exact same error message saying ..."the feature you are trying to use is a network service that is unavailable""Click OK to try again or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'HMTCDWizard.msi' in the box below"baffled ...do you think a windows XP repair would do anything? Pyron
In case you didn't reinstall windows yet, you could try Microsoft's Windows Installer Cleanup Utility to erase the previous HighMAT installation package.-- Pyron
