tfarre2 Posted August 19, 2004 Posted August 19, 2004 any time i open any exe on my system i get the file download screen (open, save, cancel, more info). the system thinks i'm trying to download a file or some kind of strange file association is going on. it started after i installed smartftp, but i've never had a problem with it before...fresh install of xp sp1 from 3 days ago. any ideas what may be causing this?
tfarre2 Posted August 19, 2004 Author Posted August 19, 2004 nevermind, it's fixed now. apparently a new windows update was installed and it screwed it up. i restarted (screen went crazy colors and wouldn't boot). turned it completely off, turned it on and it's working fine now. i have no idea what happened, but everything seems to be normal now.
