I'm shuddering at how many people recommended Frontpage for web design. You use that to massacre web sites, not design them. Probably the worst web design program I've ever seen!

Favorite Applications:

Media Player (video): Media Player Classic 6.4.8.2

Media Player (audio): Windows Media Player 9

Codecs: Cool Codecs 2.2

P2P: DC++

Office: OpenOffice.org 1.9.65 Beta (impressive thus far)

Instant Messaging: AIM 5.5.3752, MSN Messenger 7 Beta

Spyware: Microsoft AntiSpyware Beta1*, Spybot 1.4 Beta 2, Ad-aware SE 1.05 Personal

Antivirus: SAV 9.0 Corporate Edition

Desktop Search: Google Desktop Search

CD Burning: IBM RecordNow! 7.22

Graphics: Adobe Photoshop CS

Compression: 7-Zip 4.13 Beta

Notepad Replacement: Notepad2

Email: Outlook Express 6

Those to watch out for:

Graphics: Paint .NET v2.0 - created by students at Washington State, requires .NET Framework 1.1, is worth replacing mspaint

Spyware: Microsoft AntiSpyware Beta1 - impressed me with features of HiJackThis, realtime protection like Spybot, and automatic updating and scan scheduling; however, the first time i silently installed, it didn't run properly

Media Player (audio): iTunes 4.7 - this application has free mp3 decoding, burns faster than WMP (any version)

Quick Question: Does Thunderbird support Hotmail? If not, then i'm sticking with outlook express 6, because outlook 2003 can be very sluggish.
