Defrag. question.

I defraged my o.s. drive the other day.

I was wondering about the final report.

After the defrag. it said it still had 27%total fragmentation and file fragmentation was 46%.

I go back through the process and it says I need to defrag. ,I do, it says its completed, showes me this fragmentation and says again it need to be defraged.

Any ideas why I am trapped in this loop. Or why it wont defrag. 100%.

have you closed all your aplication ,turned off system restore (if you using XP not sure wether it would effect it or not though)

you should also try a different defrag program the one that comes with windows is CACK
