jrzycrim
You might try this:Dowload this cab and follow the below instructions:http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/cab/...icode/iuctl.cab1. Go to where the iuctl.cab file was downloaded. Right click the iuctl.cab file.2. Click "Open".3. Select all the files listed. 4. Right click on them and click "Extract."5. Point to a known location (like the desktop) and click "OK."6. Go to the location you selected and right click the iuctl.inf file.5. Click "Install."Use this address for Update V4http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.aspIf that works, then remove the V5 folder from \Program Files\Windowsupdate\
jrzycrim
If you still have problems, follow these steps and then reinstall V4 as shown above.1) Delete Windows\system32\wuweb.dll2) Go to Windows\Downloaded Program Files3) Righ click on Update Class and select Remove4) Reinstall Update V4
BAM
I used this one:-Navigate to ure Windows\System32 folder.-Remove or rename wuweb.dll.-After that remove the V5 folder from \Program Files\Windowsupdate\Than go to: http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.aspand accept the installer again. If you just rename the dll file u can switch between V4 and V5 by just renaming!!This worked fine for me, so give it a try and share ure experience with us.EDIT: @jrzycrim, 2 people, almost same thingy! Phyridean
It's really easy to go back to V4....just go to v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.comand it puts your default back to V4 instead of V5
