Test Zero Posted July 3, 2004 Posted July 3, 2004 Surely following your guide would create a CD that would only work in VMWare? You said it would only work on one hardware configuration, and the hardware configuration we use would be the VMWare one.

Michael.Patten Posted July 5, 2004 Posted July 5, 2004 CuBie,Here is a comment for you;You Are Good.Satisfied that people are leaving comments now? Regards,Michael Patten
Michael.Patten Posted July 5, 2004 Posted July 5, 2004 Quick one;Can you tell me why it the XPe image needs to be created off a single partition?why can't you just "build" to a folder, and then use the MS "ISOCreator" progie to burn to a CD? wouldn't that work as long as you have the ntbtldr & Boot.ini files?(or is there more to the picture that I am missing?)PS- Keep up the good work; I should finish following your guide tomorrow...Regards,Michael Patten
Alanoll Posted July 5, 2004 Posted July 5, 2004 so for each system we want this to run on, we have to create the hardware definitions for each computer seperatly? Surely there is a way to make it simpler and just include a bunch of command drivers and whatnot for the systems....
gamehead200 Posted July 5, 2004 Posted July 5, 2004 Might as well just run PE... It runs on any system... This way we don't have to create seperate CDs for say, 100 different computers?

Michael.Patten Posted July 9, 2004 Posted July 9, 2004 I have a simlar problem, I have followed cubie's guide step by step multiple times, but cannot get VMWare to boot off the disk (have checked VM Bios boot order).Only factor I can thing of; I am using an external USB HDD mount to hold my 6GB DESKTOP hard drive for development work...Should that have any impact?Michael.
