Localized Hotfix Lists

GreenMachine

Recommended Posts

Hi GreenMachine,

I now re-checked the CDs and discovered that the complained versions are (all) indeed "Localisation=English" in Prodspec.ini

I don't know whether this is a "fetaure" of MSDN or general purpose of MS???

Sorry that I cannot help with mor detailed infos ... :)

If you need other files. - Send me a message and I'll look for them.

Greetings

Frank.

And here is an updated version of the german XPCTHLST.TXT for XP-Pro.

2004/06/08 - Error with Q831167 fixed
2004/06/08 - Error with WindowsMedia9-KB837272 fixed
           - SVC-X2M\langpack.exe for dotnetfx added (I hope it is correct to add the langpack.exe to SVC-X2M?)
           - SVC-HF1\WindowsXP-KB839643-x86-DEU.EXE  added
           - SVC-PRE\DX9NTopk.exe added (there is no german version, this is a multilanguage packet and works fine)

Or is it better to send the file to Virindi and how can I do that?

Greetings

Ice M.

Hi,

did anyone update / modify the XPCTHLST.TXT for Win-XP EN??

The MD5-Checksum of my (valid!!) ServicePack file doesn't match the "expected" MD5!!! (I think it worked 2 days ago and this morning it didn't)

on the file "XPSP1_EN_X86.EXE" on the web page it is expected:

ECF625F6563DFCAEEECC4B1481899D4B

the downloaded file "XPSP1A_EN_X86.EXE" from

http://download.microsoft.com/download/5/4...sp1a_en_x86.exe returns:

363AF75CF99D554F8C4420448F2E0669

This (last) checksum is also returned from a file on the original XP ServicePack CDrom from MS!

So I think THE LAST ONE (363AF75CF99D554F8C4420448F2E0669) is the correct one!!!

Please update the web. - Thanks.

Greetings

Frank

@frankiboy_01: I'm not going to worry about those "exotic" languages just yet, as I have had no requests for them.

@Ice M.: Thanks, but I think you had the wrong WindowsMedia9 update, and a little typo. The others were perfect.

I "corrected" both the English and German File List versions, if anyone cares to test ...

moin moin

there is still a problem in the XPCTHLST.TXT for german xpp

there is a strange thing with the new dx9hf.

in the list it's WindowsXP-KB839643-x86-DEU.EXE, but this one is not made for our dx version (only m$ knows what it is good for).

as i stated before the correct patch has to be

The new DirectX90-KB839643-x86-DEU.EXE is here:

everything else seems to be fine.

@GM: no more discrepancies with your script :) .

Welcome to MSFN, pwhodges!

Yes, that is due to a version mixup. I was testing with SP!, which, of course, is not available for download. Should be OK now.

I've pulled the DX9 update off the list, as at this point the best solutions seems to be RunOnce for this hotfix. You should be OK now, ente.

found a bug in the german HFLIST4XPP

the version of Q811114 is made for NT4 (Q811114I)

the right one should be:

Q811114_WXP_SP2_x86_DEU.exe
http://download.microsoft.com/download/0/8/8/0881a282-2091-42e1-ab22-6559accfeb1c/Q811114_WXP_SP2_x86_DEU.exe
MD5: c5e3776bb8bc7dcc61e63e6dd1538ca3

compared to the english list, some files are missing:

MBSASetup-de.msi
http://download.microsoft.com/download/4/3/6/4367ed02-f546-46e0-b51b-f4b8a7a23a03/MBSASetup-de.msi
MD5: d4427e38ea0f1e0047c93a602d3e1260

msxmlger.msi
http://download.microsoft.com/download/5/f/d/5fda3c88-bd50-43cf-a845-73614e974e91/msxmlger.msi
MD5: 985824ce60a37eb2d40e712c3a8b0d12

msxml3ger.msi
http://download.microsoft.com/download/f/c/a/fca2b508-9d78-45cf-a146-9d0b294018f0/msxml3ger.msi
MD5: bd2b32017646cbde7061a7bfba09a1b4

KB832414_MSXML3.0_x86.exe
http://download.microsoft.com/download/7/f/b/7fb9bddd-c56b-4ed6-b49b-b5e8718dd778/KB832414_MSXML3.0_x86.exe
MD5: bb08332183901258e80b7bd6f55e5715

swflash (its international)

wm9tweak (the english version works fine with the german WMP)

the german list has the HF for MSXML4.0 (KB832414) - but no XML4.

i used to put both of the versions of KB832414 to the setup. But i just found, that the msxml3.dll is not fixed after setup, msxml4.dll is ok. xp always uses the oldest version if possible, so this might not be the best solution. for now i will remove msxml4.

for the dx9-hf, i just checked the logs and it seemed to be alright. but the KB839643-DirectX9.log says:

MyMakeSfcFileExceptionA: MakeSfcFileException failed; error=0x6ba.

and then the setupapi.log states:

A newer file "C:\WINDOWS\System32\dplayx.dll" was overwritten by an older (signed) file. Version of source file: 5.3.0.900. Version of target file: 5.3.0.903. The existing target file was signed.

sigh :)

have not tried in cmdlines yet.

have a nice day

Here's a list for critical updates on swedish winXP. (except the latest KB839643)

More updates/hotfixes will be added in time.

I've used xpcreate before with win2k and it worked great. With winXP however I have a few problems... Using the latest version of XPCREATE it doesn't extract the boot image from within xpcreate, using bbie standalone works, though.

Also the mdac hotfix, KB832483 isn't unattended, you'll have to click a few buttons at the t13 mark.

Otherwise it's a great tool, awesome work!! :)

EDIT// How come the md5 checksums on some hotfixes I've downloaded a few months ago differs from the ones available today?

EDIT2// list removed, as it's available on the update site.

Same list, but for swedish XP Home. Haven't tried it, just edited the list to fit XPH version.

EDIT// list removed, as it's available on the update site.
