nLite - Windows reduction tool

A good winnt.sif editor is contained inside the dir SUPPORT\TOOLS just inside the Deploy.cab

setupmgr.exe is what you're searching for. :)

A curiousity:

The CAB compression algorithm wasn't developped by Microsoft, originally it was called LZX and was created on tha Amiga Platform many years ago.

Then they've purchased from the authors the technology and (maybe) recluted the creators inside the devteam.

@Nuhi

I've just downloaded the new version, I've checked a little it but... (surprise) no java eradicating option was inside!!! :°

P.S.: put an option to do not eradicate the DRM when you omit the mediaplayer from the installation! :rolleyes:

Kind Regards

@AztecMystic

It's most likely that you're using the VMWare to test. It doesn't detect a single bit of hardware the a normal machien would except maybe the prcoessor.

It most likely works on a normal workstation.

Neither SP1a nor SP2 contain the MSJVM. Neither does Win2K SP4 or Win2K3. Why would he need to?

Aaaah yes, that did the trick :rolleyes: I installed everything on my corkstation (edit:workstation lol) just fine, thx for all the help guys.

Now a few little things:

The "saving settings" (T-9 > T-1) appears to take ages while with a normal install this was the part that went really fast... just wondering.

After this clean install with beta9 (which had a super boot :) ) a certain COM surrogate crashed, don't know what that is, but it's the first time I ever had that happen to me.

Anyway thx for the help and kudos (again) for the prog nuhi hehe

@AztecMystic, first i'm glad it was a false alarm

About COM...have you removed Distributed Transaction Coordinator ??

I'm glad it's almost working flawless :) ... enjoy in tha' speed

That's a sure sign of trouble!

Goodbye easy nights, hello 24/24 Round The World Debugging!

LOL. But, sorry about my ignorance, when will the program be released as stable (non-beta)? I don't want to go through 35+ pages... :)
