Setting Folder View to List View...how?

Recommended Posts

I haven't found how to do this with a registry file...can anyone let me know? There are some settings in the registry tweaks thread, but I can't really tell which one is the right one...

I'm looking to change from the current default Icon View, to List View...

Thanks :)

Install Windows XP.

Set the List view.

Restart the computer.

Export the following registry key:

; Show Details and Status Bar

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Streams]

"Settings"=hex:09,00,00,00,04,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,00,77,7e,13,73,35,cf,11,ae,\

69,08,00,2b,2e,12,62,04,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,43,00,00,00

Set this during the unattended install from cmdlines.txt

  • 3 weeks later...

It seems as though a restart isn't required. Just go Tools->Folder Options->View and click Apply to All Folders.

I did this after adding the Status Bar then exported the registry and the keys were different.
