TheDankBlank2030 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 I play a lot of video games and I use borderless fullscreen as my favored mode for them. The taskbar stays above the fullscreen borderless game sometimes, This seems to only happen if I press the windows button, then click on another app like discord or spotify, then focus back into the game by left clicking on it. If I press the windows button then back into game it doesn't happen, or if I click on the taskbar then the game it goes to the background like it should and lets the game take over. Automatic hiding being on fixes it, but I prefer it off personally, no crashes or bugs or anything of the sort, just a mild annoyance I really want fixed if possible please! I can confirm this is related to SAB since this does not happen with the standard win11 taskbar. And finally, sorry if this post is not done exactly correctly, I'm not that experienced with forums.
Tihiy Posted January 24 Posted January 24 This sporadic fullscreen taskbar behavior is since Windows 2000, I don't believe it's fixed in Windows 11. If you're 100% certain it doesn't happen with native taskbar, please record shortest reproduction video.
TheDankBlank2030 Posted January 24 Author Posted January 24 This is a reproduction video, while filming this I coincidentally discovered that this only happens if the app I switch to is on my secondary monitors, if I try to do it with the main screen, it behaves as it normally should, focusing back into the game with the taskbar hidden, but you can see in the video, the focus does seem to shift with the taskbar showing it below, yet it does not let the game take over for some reason. Please let me know if there is anything else you need, I'll get right on it.
Tihiy Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Yes, the case where you activate native start menu on one monitor but then close via activating app on another monitor seems to be bugged. How did you enable showing start menu via Win key on non-main monitor? 1
TheDankBlank2030 Posted January 25 Author Posted January 25 Unless I misunderstood you, I didn't? I don't see the start menu on the other monitors, only the taskbar which is not a problem for me, it's what I expect? I typically have the other windows I need pulled up on the side like discord and spotify, and so I press the windows key typically to free my mouse and go to the other monitor. Note that once again I figured out something, it seems if the taskbar is functioning properly, and I alt-tab out to the spotify for example, the taskbar remains hidden on the main monitor, and once done and I return it still works properly and remains hidden. But using the windows button is what seems to be bugging it out...??? I don't have any special binding on it or anything. It's just the default.
