im just wondering if anyone has made they're own logon thru any editor really, took the edit and then compiled it for cab to be default instead of just hex editing.. and what their outcome was ...

im about to take a custom built logon screen using logon studio [ link ]

by default i believe it saves it as logonuiX.exe, rename it to logonui.exe and cab't

(anyone try it ? sucess fail ) or any other suggestions?

this program sucks that's why it is freeware from stardock. Stardock has no freeware until the program has serious performance or compatibility issues. instaed of this use any resource hacking utility and then try to optimize ur logon screen.

REQ.>u know any logon manager that shows the bootscreen preview actualy like a bootscreen is placed, like the buttons positon, etc, plz let me know

I haven't had any problems with this at all.

Running on SP1 and SP2.

There are suggestions here to find a "better" one, yet... neither of you can come up with one.

I use the edit fundtion all the time. What is it you are trying to do?

@db-ie success integration! (if you are still there :P )

How did you do it Simon?

After I "makecab logonui.exe" and copied it to the I386 folder, i got an error during installation... :/

Edit : Found out... :( I forgot to alter it's checksum. My bad.

So the steps are :

1) Copy LogonuiX.exe to your I386 folder

2) Rename it to Logonui.exe

3) ModifyPE Logonui.exe -c

4) Store logonui.ex_ somewhere else (in case anything goes wrong)

4) MakeCab Logonui.exe

:D
