Thanks a lot. :)

btw. which files are touched by your mod in general? ntoskrnl.exe, ntdll.dll, ole32.dll... something else?

Can you take a full actual list if it's possible, may be I make Russian version of modded XP by exporting resources from original files...

Trying to install this distro from CD in Am5x86@160/128MB/SATA SSD.

Text-mode setup is OK, completes in ~15-20 minutes, then PC restarts and boots into graphical setup who says that I have 39 minutes remaining.

Waiting a whole day and it still does. :) 39 minutes remaining from ~8:00 to ~22:00 :) , no progress bar (Installing devices etc.) and no disk activity. HDD LED is blinking in first 30s...1min then stay silent every time.

Calling Taskmgr via command prompt by pressing Shift+F10 and it shows me process svchost.exe loading CPU at 100%. But Taskmgr and command prompt starts just in 5-10 seconds. :P

Killing this process leads to Setup crash immediately with error;

Quote

"The digital signature catalog d:\$win_nt$.~LS\i386\nt5.cat could not be installed. The error code is 6be"

What is that svchost.exe? Any idea to fix this?

Motherboard is Jetway J-446B SIS496/497 chipset with 256KB cache. Installing a pure English distro, no modifications made by me.

Windows 2000 SP4 works pretty good with this config.

Jus replaced nt5.ca_ file in Your distro's /i386 folder from original Windows 2000 SP4 distro and now it installs OK. After ~1,5 hours it says "Removing temporary files" :D

What a... is it? :huh:
