FantasyAcquiesce Posted February 12, 2024 Posted February 12, 2024 (edited) Hello MSFN, I am seeking a driver for the below device. Google has not been my friend here. I just want to use my dongles on Windows 7 is all. This generic model is known as "Br8041 Bluetooth 5." Most dongles are very short and are only labeled with a "V5.0" on them- they are lots of clones of this model. The hardware ID says this is a Cambridge Silicon CSR Bluetooth device. Several of these I bought in the past did. Most died very fast. Make sure they are properly cooled. 3
Dixel Posted February 13, 2024 Posted February 13, 2024 Found! Generic bluetooth 5.0 is what he wants. "I can't even find Windows XP or 7 drivers for generic bluetooth 5.0 dongles on ebay." https://msfn.org/board/topic/185881-seeking-bluetooth-30-ud-300m-usb-drivers-for-windows-98seme/?do=findComment&comment=1259897 4

No useful replies so far. I found this driver, but attempting to install it gives me a message that there are unauthorized bluetooth devices in the PC...disabling the drivers still refuses to install the driver. https://gist.github.com/peteristhegreat/b48da772167f86f43decbd34edbd0849?permalink_comment_id=4046100 Is there any hope? I haven't found a single instance of this driver working on Windows 7. Edited February 16, 2024 by FantasyAcquiesce
