ArcticFoxie/NotHereToPlayGames -- 360Chrome v13.5.1030 rebuild 7

Recommended Posts

This build is targeted to be more RAM-friendly than earlier builds.

The chrome.dll file now has a default base address of 0x3e1c0000 and this seems to work well for both x86 XP and for x64 XP.  Limited to no tests whatsoever were performed outside of XP.

Reminder that Chrome Web Store is intentionally broken in the "ungoogled" version.

The best route I have found to return a degree of functionality to Chrome Web Store but to do it without the telemetry/tracker/persistent-cookie is to manually install this extension  --  https://www.crx4chrome.com/crx/265228/

Scroll down to the Download Now section and click the Crx4Chrome download link (the other links should work as well, I have only ever used the Crx4Chrome link).

Note that the download will download without any "where to save" dialog, it will download to your default directory as set in chrome://settings/downloadSetting.

To manually install, drag-and-drop this .crx file onto "empty whtie space" on your chrome://extensions/ page.

You should get a dialog asking to confirm installation - click the Add button (then close the self-advert nuisance tab).

Now whenever you visit a Chrome Web Store addon page, you can download the .crx directly and manually install as opposed to installing via the Chrome Web Store.

@NotHereToPlayGames! Nice to see that you followed my suggestion to offer a special version for Windows XP users after all. Although I no longer need this version and have already rebased the chrome.dll file in my installation of 360Chrome 13.5 build 1030, I'm sure other users here will be happy about a RAM-friendly version for Windows XP. Or did you do other changes except rebasing the chrome.dll file? :dubbio:

VERY RAM-friendly build, never seen, thank you very much, @ArcticFoxie!..

I have these fabulous numbers:

RAM used by Windows after reboot: 272//3071 MB (8%)

RAM used by Windows+360Chrome 13.5.1030 r7reg: 351/3071 MB (11%)

351-272=79 MB only for 360Chrome 13.5.1030 r7reg

- compare to 183 MB here for latest 360Chrome 13.5 2022r3 regular build...

In Process Hacker, I see 1 process 360Loader.exe and 3 360Chrome.exe processes ONLY.

360Loader.exe and two 360Chrome.exe are in job, but only 360Loader.exe and one 360Chrome.exe have Normaliz.dll highlighted in relocated Dll color...

Settings/Advanced/Web content, I've notched: Disable pop-ups.

Under UI Style, I've unnotched: Always show search box; and Font Size/Use custom font size:12 (I had: 9 ...) - but font change doesn't work on text (work in preview box text only!) - your ancient 13.5 builds doesn't work too - no text/fonts change after change of font size, I see

Page load time, with 2 extensions (Page Load Time and uBlock O.): 1.30 best result after some reloadings of this ArcticFoxie's new topic (10 posts) first page...for now

Compare with 360Chrome 13.5.1030 r 5 with 2 this same extensions: Page load time: 1.20 best result... so this same

..and compare with DCBrowser: 1.86 best time (with 11 extensions...)

re: Disable pop-ups - Yeah, I always prefer my Proxomitron determining what a pop-up is versus my browser.  For example, 360Chrome won't let me visit my credit card's FICO page because 360Chrome thinks it's a "pop-up".

re: Use custom font size - Can you show a picture of this ever working in any of the 360Chrome builds?

But 360Chrome 13.0.2206 r 6 and 360Chrome 12.0.1247_r 8 works good! So it's 13.5 problem only.

But I don't use Proxomitron... and this feature notched works too against bad redirections, before all.
