I have made a small change in the All about: custom button to reduce the size of the tooltip popup by half. Now it looks like this:

Is it better that way? :dubbio:

I think that's better; yes.

Thanks for your opinion! Then, I will update the download links as soon as possible.

I have updated the download links of my All about custom buttons to let the tooltip look more compact as shown above. You can find them in this post: https://msfn.org/board/topic/183923-extensions-and-custom-buttons-for-uxp-browsers-corrections-modifications-adjustments-and-special-recommendations/page/46/#findComment-1274608

Don't use both at the same time. Select which one your prefer, and use that one.

If you don't know the difference between them, it's not difficult to find out. "Optimized" does not have the same meaning on all filterlists that offer such a version. And it doesn't automatically mean it's "better".

The "Phishing URL Blocklist" broke AVSForum.com today. I don't know why but suddenly it's blocking all CSS URLs with an ampersand (&), which made a complete mess of AVSForum.com. Weird.

Turned it off in the UBO Legacy dashboard and AVSForum is good again.

Alternatively, you can create custom rules for the AVSForum. uBO's logger will tell you which rule is the causer. But TBH, I do not use the Phishing URL Blocklist anyways. :P But I think there will be more and more filter lists coming up with certain rules no longer working properly in such old versions of uBO.

Wondering ... as an enduser, whats the differance between this version over Gorhills latest? Differant types, but, what makes one better then the other?

The main difference is that it is still being developed and improved.

Gorhill abandoned the legacy version many years ago and JustOff took over.

However JustOff hasn't been heard from since the war broke out in Ukraine.

Most probably the "Legacy" version, as compared to the WebExtension.

As an end user, I wouldn't say there's much difference. They both block content excellently. Yes, the WebExtension is newer, more optimized and maintained but with careful filterlist selections, you can achieve excellent results with "Legacy" too.

I might even assume that due to its XUL nature, "Legacy" could have some tricks under its sleeve that the WebExtension doesn't, but this is just an assumption.

The latest MV3 version aka uBO Lite, is the one to avoid: Less power, less features, as dictated by Google.

That was of course clear. But which one of the legacy versions? :dubbio:
