Mypal 68 in Windows XP - Custom Buttons and Extensions

Hi @roytam1, thank you for sharing the link to CustomCSSforFx! I already knew that from before. CustomCSSforFx is to customize the browser as it did Classic Theme Restorer legacy add-on in the past. Maybe there are users here interested in UI customization basing on CSS styles. AFAIK, most of CustomCSSforFx's code was taken from Classic Theme Restorer. A lot of customizations can be made, but only by editing userchrome.css. I tried it, but it's nothing for me. And the customization of the Add-on Manager is awful. I am rather interested in custom buttons providing new useful functions and in good extensions definitely working in Mypal 68. But anyway, thanks again for your hint! :)

Top and Bottom scroll buttons

Adds scroll to Top and Bottom buttons on all sites. This is one extension which is really working on most sites, beside a lot of crap. Now you can quickly scroll to top or bottom of a website. Tested version: 1.8.0

Language Packs

Mypal 68.12.4b is based on Firefox 68.12.0esr. Therefore, each language pack of Firefox 68.12.0esr can be installed to switch the UI of Mypal 68 to desired language. After installing the downloaded xpi file via Add-on Manager, you simply have to switch to your language by using the Mypal's setting page under section Language. Subsequently, a browser's restart is required, of course. Tested and working with the German language file de.xpi.

Download link: https://download-installer.cdn.mozilla.net/pub/firefox/releases/68.12.0esr/win32/xpi/

Attention! gyrophare.gif
As of Mypal 68.13.0b, the language packs no longer work.

They have to be adapted again. smilie_denk_24.gif

aboutbutton

The script aboutbutton.uc.js adds a button with a context menu to the navigation bar and to the main context menu a new submenu that allows opening different about pages in a new tab. All about pages with one click as it was possible by the old legacy add-on More About! A similar web extension exists but doesn't work, i.e., it is just crap. Anyway, I love it and I hope you love it too! pleindecoeurs07.gif The original version is a German one. I've translated it for you and provide an English version either. Tested and working.

Requirements: Download package MYPAL_68_CB_requirements.7z in the first post of this thread.

do you know how to install aboutbutton in New Moon developped by Roytam ? :dubbio:

Regards

Hi @genieautravail, in New Moon 28, you can either use the extension Custom Buttons 0.0.5.8.9.6 if you have a working script for such a button, or much easier the extension More About 3.0.0 or Addons Memory Usage 12.9 in combination with Addons Memory Usage Button 1.2.
Scripts for the extension Custom Buttons made by users can be downloaded here: http://custombuttons.sourceforge.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=4
And here is the link to a working button called About: Menus Mod which does the same: http://custombuttons.sourceforge.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=367&p=1945&hilit=aboutabout#p1945

@genieautravail Now, you can see there are a lot of choices to implement a custom button in one of our beloved legacy browsers, unlike in the case of Mypal 68. The script aboutabout is the only way to do that in modern Firefox/Mypal browsers. There are no such extensions, and all old custom buttons don't work anymore. pcwut.gif That's one of the reasons I created this thread.

Undo Close Tab

Allows you to restore the tab you just closed with a single click. Additionally, it can offer a list of recently closed tabs within a convenient context menu. It's a missing button in Mypal 68, and I use it to restore quickly closed tabs. Tested version:7.5.0

@genieautravail, may I kindly ask if you consider it a form of politeness neither to reply to previously posted answers or solutions nor to react? grattermenton.gif I could see you visited this forum since your request in this thread,  but I can't see a reply or a reaction here. And truth to be told, it's not the first time, unfortunately.

FireShot: Full Web Page Screenshots

With FireShot you can capture either whole page or just a selection. Screenshots are quickly captured and can be saved as an image in form of a pdf or an image file. Some features are available in the Pro version only, but generally, it is a free tool. Tested version: 1.10.5.1

Sorry, but I am busy too. You are not the only one. My second name is astroskipperautravailsclindoeil.gif But kidding aside, please @genieautravail, do not post in my threads any questions or requests if you don't want to have an answer or a solution! In such a case, you are about to waste my time. And my time is just as valuable as yours. And BTW, my question about politeness was answered by yourself with your bold reply. jaioublie.gif Thanks for that!

SuperStop

SuperStop stops background requests and animations even when the Stop button is disabled. SuperStop is very simple: it adds a Shift+Esc shortcut (configurable) and a toolbar button that stop active WebSocket connections, JS timers, XMLHttpRequests, and any animated images and videos, regardless of the state of the Stop button. This extension I recommend for all users of Mypal 68 whose computer is low on system resourcespanne-ordi-2.gif A click onto the toolbar button, for example, stops immediately the animation of all loaded GIF images without reloading the page, and the CPU load is back to normal subsequently. Absolutely great! ssupercool2.gif Tested version: 0.6
